How to measure a Furniture Leg

HOW TO PROPERLY MEASURE A FURNITURE LEG

Use the units of measurement you are familiar with (mm, cm or inches).
Measure with a ruler or tape measure.
There are several ways to measure.

If the furniture leg is ROUND-shaped:
Way 1. Measure the external width (diameter) of the furniture leg.
Way 2. If the furniture is heavy and you cannot measure the width (diameter) of the furniture leg, then measure around the furniture leg (the circumference of the furniture leg).
Way 3. Place a piece of paper under the leg, outline the leg of the chair on it, remove the paper, and measure the width (diameter) of the furniture leg from the paper.
P.S. If the furniture leg is trapezoidal-shaped and widens upwards, measure the circumference at a height of 7 cm / 2.8 inches from the bottom.

If the furniture leg is OVAL-shaped:
Way 1. Measure two external widths (diameters) of the furniture leg, the shorter and the longer.
Way 2. If the furniture is heavy and you cannot measure the width (diameter) of the furniture leg, then measure around the furniture leg (the circumference of the furniture leg).
Way 3. Place a piece of paper under the leg, outline the leg of the chair, and measure the shorter and longer widths (diameters) from the paper.
P.S. . If the furniture leg is trapezoidal-shaped and widens upwards, measure the circumference at a height of 7 cm / 2.8 inches from the bottom.

If the furniture leg is SQUARE-shaped:
Way 1. Measure the side of the furniture leg.
Way 2. Place a piece of paper under the leg, outline the leg, remove the paper, and measure the side of the furniture leg from the paper.
P.S. If the furniture leg is trapezoidal-shaped and widens upwards, measure the side at a height of 7 cm / 2.8 inches from the bottom.

If the furniture leg is RECTANGULAR-shaped:
Way 1. Measure two sides of the furniture leg, the shorter and the longer.
Way 2. Place a piece of paper under the leg, outline the leg, and measure the shorter and longer sides from the paper.
P.S If the furniture leg is trapezoidal-shaped and widens at the top, measure the shorter and longer sides at a height of 7 cm / 2.8 inches from the bottom.
